Can I Appeal My Nassau County Property Assessment Every Year?

Nassau County issues a new assessment for each assessment year.

The county states that a homeowner who disagrees with the most recent assessment may appeal it, even while waiting for a decision involving an appeal filed in an earlier year.

This does not mean one application automatically covers future assessments. Each annual assessment and filing period must be reviewed separately.

Deadlines also change with the assessment cycle. Do not reuse an old filing date found in a previous article, notice or social-media post.

Check the current Assessment Review Commission information before filing. If the period is closed, homeowners can still begin gathering comparable properties, photographs, repair estimates and other supporting records for the next available cycle.

AIDOTAX helps organize those materials but does not guarantee an assessment reduction.
